Christmas Holidays - Is it your turn?   4 replies   5 voices

If your office is anything like the apmasphere office, the Christmas Party is booked and holidays are being planned.

How are the holidays going to affect your team?  If you are taking holidays, who is covering your work load?

I’ve heard that some businesses don’t allow holidays in January as it is so busy for leasing and new business, will this

be your fate?

This is always a fun issue to address in an office enviroment.  How this was addressed in the last big office I worked in was that in about August everyone was asked to put in for xmas holidays, (we also didn’t allow staff annual leave in January due to work loads that time of the year).  Once we know who wanted time off we would look at our work days and roster so that everyone got at least 2 days off with pay as a bonus from the boss.  We also tried to share it around for example not the same people taking 3 weeks off every year and those who also only maybe preferred time off for New Year instead etc.  Seemed to work if you are open with everyone and be upfront about what you need as a boss.  It is xmas afterall so you have to have some Xmas spirit.

Good luck …..

And we cant wait to have you Kylie. you will have to give me a buzz before you come up so we can catch up!

I have holidays from christmas day to approx the 5th. I advise all landlords and tenants that during this time no property management work will be conducted unless it is an EMERGENCY. there is always one or two calls which dont comply, however everyone else is generally pretty good about it, as they are all holidaying too!
