An article in the Tamworth City News today has outlined that Solar & Bamboo Direct Pty Ltd (Tamworth & Coffs Harbour) and Solar Installations (NSW) installed around 450 solar HWS in NSW during 2011 that were faulty. All companies closed their doors prior to Christmas. The systems do not have temperature regulators that meet Australian Standards and people who have them installed in their home are at risk of scalding incidents. The OFT have ordered the companies replace all of the faulty HWS, although have apparently not complied.

Have any property managers engaged these companies for work?

One of my landlords got done, she organised this herself.  She lost $600 and another friend of mine got pinched too for $600.  I have heard on the grapevine that the proprietors were con men who have done this before.  I do not know if that is true or not.  I have asked my friend who has details of the solicitors to send me the details so we can forward to my landlord.  I will post when I have those details for you.
