I just made a couple of phone calls.

We are setting up my horsefloat in front of our office next week and have contacted the local paper to run a story.  We are inviting residents of Narrabri to buy a toaster, microwave, kettle, Tv, flat packed furniture, toys, Irons, ironing boards, or tables and chairs etc and bring down to our office to put in the float.  The float will be then taken to our local freight centre Lattak Freight, who have donated space to store it all and it is being shipped to Brisbane the first week of February by Brian’s Removals who has donated his time and truck to take it there.

People can come to our office to drop off goods and will be directed to the balloon covered float with signs all over it in the main street.  We are also accepting store cards from Myer, Target, Coles and Woolworths etc.  We hear that the appeal has been inundated with clothing, so we are trying to do other items.

Other offices can do the same thing in your areas and have the goods shipped to flooded areas near you to help.

I hope some others get enthused and follow this lead!
