What does everyone think of this story: A landlord couple are giving their tenants on the NSW mid-north coast a week of free rent this Christmas – and are urging any Scrooge property owners out there to do the same. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8389767/landlord-gives-tenants-rent-free-rent |

I think it’s nice when owners reward quality tenants.
I have had owners ask us to buy tenants gifts like wine and take it to the tenant with a card on their behalf. |

I did notice they were related, I wonder if they still would have had this gift if they were standard tenants. I do agree it is a lovely gesture, If the banks did it, I would expect the landlord to pass it on, However the bank is running a business so it is not expected from them, I think that my landlords are trying to run a business too. I think a simple gift will suffice just as much, Without the expense. (i am also a tenant, and would not ask for this in a milion years, A card would be nice though) |

Yea, Auntie to Neice I believe.. cheap shot once again at Landlords. What about a gift from Tenant to Landlord in appreciation for allowing them to have a roof over their heads and do all maintenance to ensure it’s as good as it can be, saving them thousands in the process that they would incur if they had the mortgage, which incidentally the Landlord did spend during the year.. Just tossing it out there guys..;))
